Songs like "Baby I Don't Care" and the title track "I Was The One" showcase Elvis’s ability to blend heartfelt vocals with tight, rhythmic backing. While rooted in his signature style, this album also resonates with fans of contemporaries like Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins, making it a neat snapshot of that vibrant mid-50s soundscape. This 1983 vinyl pressing provides a solid way to explore this phase of Elvis’s catalog without the distraction of modern remastering. The record is in VG++ condition, meaning the vinyl is glossy and very clean, with only a few minor paper scuffs or faint lines that won’t interfere with listening. It’s a pressing that’s straightforward and approachable—perfect for those who appreciate a good groove without the fuss. If you’re lining up your collection by era or mood, this one fits nicely alongside other focused acoustic sessions, proving that sometimes less really does say more.

Track listing & samples

Elvis Presley - I Was The One

Side A

My Baby Left Me

Baby I Don't Care

Little Sister

Don't

Wear My Ring Around Your Neck

Paralyzed

Side B

Baby Let's Play House

I Was The One

Rip It Up

Young And Beautiful

Ready Teddy
