Songs like "It Was A Very Good Year" and "The September Of My Years" explore themes of aging and memory with a poetic subtlety that sets this album apart in his catalog. The delicate interplay of strings and woodwinds, featuring players like Buddy Collette and Alvin Dinkin, supports Sinatra’s nuanced delivery, making it an album designed for focused listening rather than background ambiance. Ed Thrasher’s cover art and G. Bartell’s illustration add a visual elegance that matches the music’s introspective mood. This 1965 pressing carries the original vibe of the era with a vinyl surface in very good plus condition, showing only minor light marks typical of careful use. Engineered by Lowell Frank and produced by Sonny Burke, this record offers a chance to experience the album’s rich soundscape in a classic format. If your collection appreciates albums that reward close attention, this pressing is a solid choice—after all, it’s not every day you get to ponder life’s seasons with Sinatra as your guide, and one hopes the record won’t age as quietly as the songs.

Track listing & samples

Frank Sinatra - September of My Years

Side A

The September Of My Years

How Old Am I?

Don't Wait Too Long

It Gets Lonely Early

This Is All I Ask

Last Night When We Were Young

The Man In The Looking Glass

Side B

It Was A Very Good Year

When The Wind Was Green

Hello, Young Lovers

I See It Now

Once Upon A Time

September Song
