This album stands out for its blend of lively jigs like \"Rosebud in June\" and haunting carols such as \"Gaudete,\" showcasing the band's skilled ensemble work and rich vocal harmonies. Fans of Fairport Convention or Richard Thompson will appreciate the group's ability to honor folk roots while giving the material a distinct, focused listening experience. The inclusion of tracks like \"John Barleycorn\" and \"King Henry\" underlines the album’s deep connection to British folk traditions, yet it remains accessible beyond the genre’s usual circles. This pressing from 1972 offers a chance to hear the album as listeners might have in its era, pressed on vinyl with a clean, glossy surface that carries only minor paper scuffs and faint lines typical of careful use.
