Christopher Cross – Christopher Cross

Christopher Cross’s self-titled debut was released by Warner Bros. in 1979 and quickly became one of the defining pop/soft-rock albums of its moment. Produced by Michael Omartian, Christopher Cross was also one of the first popular music albums digitally recorded, using the 3M Digital Recording System. Its 1981 Grammy sweep was historic: five wins, including Album of the Year, with Cross becoming the first artist to win the four major Grammy categories in the same year. Michael McDonald’s backing vocals on “Ride Like the Wind” add another strong reason this LP remains a key late-’70s crossover pop record. This copy is a 1979 Japan import vinyl pressing with obi, a nice format detail for buyers looking beyond a standard domestic copy. The vinyl is graded NM, with an almost untouched visual appearance, glossy clean surfaces, and no visible lines, scuffs, or sleeve marks noted.
