Asia is an English rock supergroup that emerged in London during 1981, featuring notable musicians John Wetton, Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, and Carl Palmer. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1982, achieved significant success and remains their best-selling work. Among the standout tracks is "Heat of the Moment," which reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and solidified their presence in the rock scene. Over the years, Asia has experienced several lineup changes, reuniting the original members in 2006. Following the retirement of Steve Howe in 2013, Sam Coulson stepped in as his replacement. The band's history includes the passing of John Wetton, after which Billy Sherwood took his place for a summer tour in 2017. As of 2024, Asia announced a new touring lineup featuring Geoff Downes, Virgil Donati, John Mitchell, and Harry Whitley, continuing their legacy in rock music.
