Big Star emerged from Memphis, Tennessee, in 1971, featuring members Alex Chilton, Chris Bell, Jody Stephens, and Andy Hummel. The band is celebrated as a key player in the power pop genre and has garnered a devoted following over the years. Their debut album, #1 Record, released in 1972, received critical acclaim and showcased their signature sound. The subsequent album, Radio City, followed in 1974 and continued to build on their reputation. Despite disbanding in 1974, Big Star's legacy endured, culminating in the posthumous release of their third album, Third/Sister Lovers, which has achieved cult status. They briefly reunited in 1993 with new members Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow. In recognition of their impact, Big Star was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
