The group's name, translating to 'Club New' in French, was adopted after initially being called 'Jet Set.' With their first three albums released under Warner Bros. Records, they quickly made a mark in the R&B scene. Their debut album, "Life, Love & Pain," featured four consecutive hits, solidifying their presence in the music industry. One of their most notable achievements came with their rendition of "Lean on Me," which won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song in 1987. The group’s original lineup included Jay King, Valerie Watson, Samuelle Prater, Denzil Foster, and Thomas McElroy. Their sound and style can also be heard in other popular tracks such as "Why You Treat Me So Bad" and "Jealousy," further contributing to their legacy in the genre.
