Dino Paul Crocetti, better known as Dean Martin, was born on June 7, 1917, in Steubenville, Ohio. He made a name for himself as a multifaceted entertainer, excelling as a singer, actor, comedian, and television host. Martin first gained widespread recognition as part of the comedy duo Martin and Lewis alongside Jerry Lewis, which began in 1946. Following their split in 1956, he transitioned into a successful solo career, becoming renowned for his laid-back style and earning the nickname "King of Cool." Throughout his career, Martin's contributions to music were significant, selling over 12 million records in the United States alone and more than 50 million worldwide. His hit song "Everybody Loves Somebody" famously dethroned The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night" from the number one spot in 1964. He also hosted "The Dean Martin Show" starting in 1965 and served as roastmaster for "The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast" from 1974 to 1984, further solidifying his status as a beloved figure in American entertainment.
