Della Reese, born on July 6, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, was a multifaceted talent known as a singer, actress, television personality, author, and ordained minister. She made a significant impact on the music scene, particularly with her hit single "Don't You Know?" which soared to number two on the US Hot 100 in 1959. Her musical repertoire spanned blues, gospel, jazz, and pop, showcasing her versatility as an artist. In addition to her music career, Reese made history as the first black woman to host her own talk show. She is perhaps best remembered for her role in the CBS series "Touched by an Angel," which aired from 1994 to 2003. In 1998, she released the Grammy-nominated gospel album "My Soul Feels Better Right Now," further solidifying her legacy in the entertainment industry. Reese also became an ordained minister in the 1980s, reflecting her deep commitment to spirituality throughout her life.
