Harold Betters, born on March 21, 1928, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, was a distinguished American jazz trombone player known for his unique style that drew inspiration from Trummy Young and Bennie Green. He pursued music education at Ithaca College and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, which laid a strong foundation for his musical career. Over the years, Betters toured with notable acts such as Dick Gregory and the Ray Charles big band, showcasing his talent on stages across the country. In addition to his touring experience, Betters led his own quartet featuring pianist John Thomas and served as a session musician, performing at venues like the Crawford Grill. He earned the nickname 'Mr. Trombone' thanks to his exceptional skills and contributions to jazz. One of his notable achievements includes his chart-topping song "Do Anything You Wanna, (Pt. 1)," which reached #74 on the US Hot 100, marking his only appearance on the charts.
