John Lee Hooker

Blues
John Lee Hooker was a prominent American blues artist, celebrated for his unique electric guitar adaptations of Delta blues, which he honed in Detroit. Born around 1912 or 1917, he left an indelible mark on the music world until his passing in 2001. Hooker's driving-rhythm boogie style set him apart from traditional boogie-woogie, and he gained recognition for his influential tracks, including "Boogie Chillen'" and "Boom Boom." His contributions to music earned him several accolades, such as Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Blues Recording and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. Over his prolific career, Hooker released notable albums like "The Healer," "Mr. Lucky," and "Chill Out." His talent was recognized by his induction into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. In 2015, Rolling Stone ranked him 35th on their list of the 100 greatest guitarists, underscoring his lasting influence in the genre.
