He formed John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers in the 1960s, a band that became a launching pad for several notable musicians, including Eric Clapton, Peter Green, and Mick Taylor. His influential album, "Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton," released in 1966, is widely regarded as a classic in the genre. Mayall's contributions to music earned him the title of the 'godfather of the British blues,' and his remarkable career spanned nearly seven decades until his passing on July 22, 2024. In recognition of his impact, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. His repertoire includes well-known songs such as "Crawling Up a Hill," "I'm Your Witchdoctor," and "Hideaway," showcasing his talent as a songwriter and performer.
