Kay Gees, born Keir Lamont Gist on September 15, 1969, is an American DJ, rapper, and record producer hailing from East Orange, New Jersey. He gained prominence as a key member of the influential hip hop trio Naughty by Nature, which is celebrated for hits like "O.P.P." and "Hip Hop Hooray." In 1995, KayGee and the group were honored with a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for their work on Poverty's Paradise. Although he departed from Naughty by Nature in 2000, KayGee made a return to the group in 2006. Beyond his work with the trio, he founded the R&B-oriented record label Illtown, which later evolved into Divine Mill, showcasing his diverse talents in the music industry.
