Lobo, born Roland Kent LaVoie on July 31, 1943, in Tallahassee, Florida, is an American singer-songwriter known for his distinctive contributions to the music scene, particularly during the 1970s. He achieved significant success with several U.S. Top 10 hits, including the beloved tracks "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" and "I'd Love You to Want Me." His debut album, "Introducing Lobo," was released in May 1971 and set the stage for his career, which saw him dominate the Easy Listening/Hot Adult Contemporary charts with four chart-topping singles. In 1977, Lobo signed with Curb Records, where he continued to release music and maintain his popularity. By the late 1980s, he found a new audience in Asia, leading to the release of several albums in the 1990s. Lobo's heartfelt songwriting and memorable melodies have left a lasting impact on fans around the world.
