Lloyd Lovindeer, a Jamaican dancehall deejay born around 1948, has made a significant impact on the music scene with his unique style. He grew up in Kingston and Ewarton, St Catherine, and attended Kingston College, where he first ventured into music by forming The Fabulous Flames. After the group disbanded in the mid-1970s, Lovindeer launched a successful solo career, with his most notable hit being "Wild Gilbert," released in September 1988. This humorous track reflects his experiences during Hurricane Gilbert and became a staple in dancehall music. Lovindeer's discography also includes other popular songs such as "Babylon Boops," "Don't Bend Down," and "Man Shortage." After spending several years in Canada from 1976 to 1982, he returned to Jamaica, continuing to create music that resonates with fans. His latest album, "Jamaica: Land of the One Love People," was released in August 2013, showcasing his enduring connection to Jamaican culture and music.
