MGMT, originally known as 'The Management,' was founded by Andrew VanWyngarden and Benjamin Goldwasser in 2002 in Middletown, Connecticut. They adopted the name MGMT in 2005, releasing their debut album, Oracular Spectacular, two years later. This album featured hit tracks like "Time to Pretend" and "Electric Feel," which helped define their sound and earn them a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. The band's evolution continued with their fourth studio album, Little Dark Age, released in February 2018, showcasing their distinctive blend of rock and electronic influences. In 2024, MGMT released their fifth studio album, Loss of Life, further solidifying their place in the modern music landscape.
