Oingo Boingo, created by songwriter Danny Elfman in 1979, originated from a surrealist musical theatre group known as the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. Their catalog features several popular tracks, including "Only a Lad," "Little Girls," "Dead Man's Party," and "Weird Science," with the latter achieving notable success by reaching No. 45 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Over the years, Oingo Boingo underwent numerous lineup changes, although Elfman remained a key figure throughout their journey. The band's evolution led them to be referred to simply as Boingo during a transitional phase in their music. After a memorable farewell concert on Halloween in 1995, they officially disbanded, leaving behind a legacy marked by their innovative approach to rock music.
