In 1967, he established the Paul Winter Consort, a group that would explore and innovate within these realms. One of Winter's notable works is the album "Common Ground," released in 1978, which uniquely incorporates animal sounds, showcasing his commitment to merging music with environmental themes. Throughout his career, Winter has been an artist-in-residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, where he has performed numerous times, further solidifying his connection to nature and spirituality in music. In 1980, he founded Living Music Records, allowing him to produce and distribute his work independently. His notable songs include "Ghost Beads," "Icarus," and "Wolf Eyes," all of which reflect his artistic vision and dedication to creating a harmonious relationship between music and the natural world.
