Phish, an influential American rock band, originated in Burlington, Vermont, in 1983. The group comprises guitarist Trey Anastasio, bassist Mike Gordon, drummer Jon Fishman, and keyboardist Page McConnell. Known for their exceptional musical improvisation, Phish captivates audiences with their extended jams during live performances. Since 1986, the band's lineup has remained unchanged, contributing to their distinct sound and dynamic stage presence. After gaining traction outside New England in the late 1980s, Phish enjoyed significant popularity in the mid-1990s. They took a hiatus in 2000 and disbanded in 2004 but made a celebrated return in 2008 and have been performing regularly ever since. With over 8 million albums and DVDs sold in the U.S. by 2020, tracks like "You Enjoy Myself" and "Halley's Comet" remain fan favorites that showcase their unique blend of genres and improvisational style.
