Over his extensive career, which spans more than six decades, Carter has collaborated with many legends, including his time with Miles Davis's 'Second Great Quintet' from 1963 to 1968. His work during the 1960s includes several iconic Blue Note albums, showcasing his exceptional talent. In addition to his performance career, Carter has shared his expertise as an educator at prestigious institutions such as the Juilliard School and City College of New York. He has been recognized with three Grammy Awards and was honored as a Commander of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by France in 2010. Some of his notable works include "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," "Verses from the Abstract," and "Money Jungle," which highlight his innovative approach to jazz.
