Rupert Holmes, originally named David Goldstein, was born on February 24, 1947. He is a multifaceted talent known for his work as a composer, singer-songwriter, dramatist, and author, holding dual British and American citizenship. His most famous hits include "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)" and "Him," both of which have become staples in popular music. In addition to his musical success, Holmes earned two Tony Awards for his Broadway musical, "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," showcasing his skills in theater as well. Holmes has also made his mark in television by creating the series "Remember WENN." His literary accomplishments include the novel "Murder Your Employer: The McMasters Guide to Homicide," which achieved popularity by reaching number six on the New York Times Best Seller list. Throughout his career, he has worked with various artists, including producing songs for legends like Barbra Streisand, affirming his influence across multiple entertainment mediums.
