Sade, born Helen Folasade Adu on January 16, 1959, in Nigeria, is a renowned British singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the band Sade. The group first gained widespread acclaim with their debut album, Diamond Life, released in 1984, which featured iconic tracks like "Smooth Operator" and "Your Love Is King." After a brief hiatus following the birth of Sade's child in 1996, the band reunited in 1999, leading to the release of Lovers Rock in 2000. Over the years, Sade has been recognized for her contributions to music, winning a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1986 and continuing to captivate audiences with hits such as "By Your Side" and "Soldier of Love," their sixth studio album released in 2010.
