Spandau Ballet, originating from Islington, London, made their mark on the music scene in 1979. Initially known as The Applause, they gained recognition as the house band for the Blitz Kids club night, playing European dance music. The classic lineup of the band included Gary Kemp, Martin Kemp, Tony Hadley, Steve Norman, and John Keeble. Their debut single, "To Cut a Long Story Short," achieved notable success, reaching No. 5 in the UK charts in 1980. The band reached the height of their fame with the 1983 album "True," featuring the iconic title track that soared to No. 1 in the UK. In 1985, Spandau Ballet performed at the renowned Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium, solidifying their status in the music industry. After a reunion in 2009 for The Reformation Tour, the group saw changes in 2017 when Tony Hadley departed, leading to Ross William Wild stepping in as the new frontman. Notable tracks like "Gold" and "Only When You Leave" continue to define their legacy.
