Robert Maxon Harrington, born on January 30, 1912, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, was a talented American jazz vibraphonist known for his versatile musicianship, which also included proficiency in drums and piano. Throughout his career, he collaborated with notable musicians, playing alongside Charlie Barnet in the early 1950s and contributing as a drummer with artists like Red Nichols and Bud Freeman. Harrington's artistry is encapsulated in his solo album, "Vibraphone Fantasy in Jazz," released in 1957, which features his signature style and creativity. His association with Harry Babasin's Jazzpickers further highlights his impact on the jazz scene. Harrington's contributions to music continued until his passing on August 20, 1983, in Kona, Hawaii, leaving behind a legacy that resonates with jazz enthusiasts. His work remains significant, particularly through tracks like "Vibraphone Fantasy in Jazz," which showcases his distinctive approach to the vibraphone.
