The Mills Brothers, an iconic American vocal jazz and traditional pop quartet, made a remarkable mark on the music industry with over 2,000 recordings that collectively sold more than 50 million copies. Formed by brothers Donald, Herbert, Harry, and John Jr. Mills, they are celebrated for their distinctive vocal harmonies, often mimicking instruments, which set them apart in the music scene. Their hit song "Paper Doll" not only topped the charts but also made history as the first No. 1 single by black artists on the Billboard chart in 1943. In addition to their commercial success, The Mills Brothers were trailblazers in the entertainment world, becoming the first black artists to host their own show on national network radio in 1930. Their contributions to music were recognized with their induction into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998.
