Puente pursued formal education at the Juilliard School of Music, where he honed his skills in conducting and orchestration. His influential album "Dance Mania," released in 1958, solidified his reputation in the industry, while his iconic cha-cha-chá track "Oye Cómo Va," composed in 1963, remains a classic to this day.
