Van Halen emerged from Pasadena, California in 1972 and quickly made a name for themselves in the rock scene. The classic lineup, featuring Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, and Michael Anthony, dominated the charts with their self-titled debut album in 1978, which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200. Their follow-up album, '1984', marked a significant milestone in their career, producing the iconic hit "Jump," which remains one of their most recognized songs. Throughout the late '80s and early '90s, Van Halen enjoyed continued success with lead vocalist Sammy Hagar, releasing four U.S. number-one albums. After a hiatus following 'Van Halen III' in 1998, the band reunited with Hagar in 2003 and later released their final studio album, 'A Different Kind of Truth', in 2012. With over 56 million albums sold in the U.S. and more than 80 million worldwide, Van Halen's impact on rock music is undeniable.
