Barry White – Rhapsody in White

Rhapsody in White connects directly to Barry White’s Love Unlimited Orchestra, the 40-piece ensemble he created in 1973 around the Love Unlimited orbit. Released in January 1974 by 20th Century Records, it shows the orchestral soul-jazz and jazz-funk side of White’s world rather than a straight vocal-soul album. That makes it a nice choice for anyone drawn to his arranging sensibility and the lush, groove-minded end of early-’70s soul. This copy is a 1974 Japan import vinyl pressing priced at $18. The record is graded VG+, so expect a solid everyday copy with a few light lines, sleeve marks, or small scuffs possible, but not wear that should dominate the music. The import pressing context gives this Barry White-related title a little extra shelf appeal.
