Basil Poledouris’s Conan The Barbarian - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack delivers a richly textured acoustic ensemble that invites focused listening well beyond the film’s action-packed scenes. Tracks like “Riddle Of Steel / Riders Of Doom” and “Anvil Of Crom” channel a primal energy through orchestral layers and subtle shifts, setting this score apart as a compelling narrative companion. The music’s blend of thematic intensity and nuanced dynamics makes it a rewarding experience for those who appreciate soundtrack compositions that stand on their own. This 1983 vinyl pressing offers a solid, glossy surface with only faint signs of previous handling, so it’s well-suited for those who want a clean copy to enjoy the full depth of Poledouris’s work. The record’s clarity supports the soundtrack’s intricate arrangements without distraction, making it a practical choice for collectors who prioritize sound integrity. If your collection has room for a soundtrack that balances cinematic drama with acoustic detail, this pressing fits the bill—no need to wield a sword to appreciate its sharpness.
