Billy Joel’s The Nylon Curtain stands out as one of his most ambitious albums, blending introspective songwriting with intricate arrangements that reflect early 1980s America’s social tensions. Tracks like "Allentown" and "Goodnight Saigon" delve into working-class struggles and the Vietnam War’s lingering shadows, while "Where's The Orchestra?" offers a wry nod to the album’s lush production. Produced by Phil Ramone and engineered by Jim Boyer, the record showcases Joel’s expanding palette, including synthesizers and the unexpected touch of melodica and accordion, lending a layered, textured sound that rewards focused listening. This 1982 vinyl pressing presents The Nylon Curtain with vinyl in very clean condition, bearing only faint signs of light use typical for its age. The record’s glossy surface hints at careful handling, making it an appealing choice for those who appreciate the tactile qualities of a well-kept pressing. If you’re looking for a record that balances thoughtful storytelling with meticulous studio craft, this pressing’s clarity and completeness make it a fine companion—after all, it’s not every day you find a “Room Of Our Own” in the vinyl section that’s this tidy.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
