Billy Joel’s *The Stranger* stands as a defining moment in his catalog, blending pop rock with intimate storytelling and acoustic touches. Tracks like "Just The Way You Are" and "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" showcase Joel’s knack for vivid narratives and memorable melodies, enriched by the subtle accordion work of Dominic Cortese and Patrick Williams’ orchestration. The album’s inviting mix of focused listening and accessible rock has made it a staple for those who appreciate songwriting craft with a soft rock sheen. It’s an album where even Joel’s whistling adds a personal signature, and the cover art by Jim Houghton hints at the thoughtful mood inside. This 1977 pressing channels that era’s warmth through vinyl, engineered by Phil Ramone and Jim Boyer, with Bob Ludwig’s lacquer cut ensuring the grooves are ready for a good spin. The record’s VG+ condition means you can expect some light surface marks or paper scuffs, typical for steady use but nothing that should distract from the music itself. For anyone looking to hear *The Stranger* as it circulated in its original decade, this copy offers a practical vintage experience without the need to hunt for a flawless gem—a reminder that sometimes the company of a well-played record is just right.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
