Blue Magic’s 1976 album Mystic Dragons offers a refined blend of soulful vocals and thoughtful arrangements that invite focused listening. Known for their smooth harmonies and emotive delivery, this US R&B quintet presents tracks like "It's Something About Love" and "Making Love To A Memory" that highlight their knack for nuanced storytelling through song. The album sits comfortably in a quieter corner of the soul spectrum, favoring intimate acoustic settings over showy production, which makes it a compelling choice for those who appreciate subtlety in vocal group performances. This pressing from 1976 comes in a vinyl format that reflects the era’s commitment to album-oriented listening. The record grades as VG+, indicating it has some light surface marks and minor paper scuffs but remains well within the bounds of strong everyday playability. For anyone looking to add a piece of Blue Magic’s mid-70s work to their collection, this copy balances musical charm with a condition that respects its age without demanding a magnifying glass for enjoyment. And in a lineup of soul records, Mystic Dragons is the kind of album that rewards patience—like finding the standout "Freak-N-Stein" hidden just beneath the surface.
