Boulez/Zappa- The Perfect Stranger-LP

Boulez/Zappa – The Perfect Stranger

The Perfect Stranger brings Frank Zappa’s compositions into Pierre Boulez’s contemporary-classical world, with Boulez conducting the Ensemble InterContemporain on part of the album. Originally issued on vinyl in 1984 by Angel Records, it stands apart in Zappa’s catalog for placing orchestral writing alongside Synclavier-based electronic pieces. That mix makes the Boulez/Zappa album especially interesting for listeners drawn to the overlap between modern composition, post-modern classical ideas, and Zappa’s electronic experiments. The project also connects back to Zappa’s 1971 film 200 Motels through material commissioned by Boulez. This 1984 vinyl pressing is graded NM, with vinyl that looks almost untouched: glossy, clean, and with no visible lines, scuffs, or sleeve marks noted. A clean vintage vinyl LP copy with strong condition appeal for anyone looking for the more composer-focused side of Frank Zappa.
