Carolyne Mas – Carolyne Mas

Carolyne Mas came out of the late-1970s Greenwich Village singer-songwriter scene, the same fertile downtown moment that brought wider attention to artists like Steve Forbert, The Roches, and Willie Nile. Her self-titled Carolyne Mas album is a rock-minded pop record from a multi-instrumentalist songwriter who worked as a singer, guitarist, pianist, and producer. Mas also found notable success outside the U.S., especially in Germany, which gives her catalog a different profile than many New York singer-songwriters of the period. This is a 1979 vintage vinyl pressing, priced at $10. The record is graded VG+, a solid everyday grade where a few light lines, sleeve marks, or small scuffs may be present, but not wear that should dominate the music. At under $15, this is an affordable Carolyne Mas vinyl copy with appealing period context and a respectable playing grade.
