Cheech Y Chong- Los Cochinos-LP

• Format: LP
• Label: Ode Records (2)
• Catalog number: SP 77019

Los Cochinos by Cheech and Chong stands out as a sharp slice of 1973 counterculture comedy, blending spoken word sketches with rock and folk elements. The album’s humor is anchored by characters like “Sargent Stadanko” and the irreverent “Basketball Jones,” making it a touchstone for fans of comedy that doesn’t shy away from social satire. Lou Adler’s production and Norm Kinney’s engineering keep the pace lively, while the horn contributions from Dick Hyde, George Bohanon, and Paul Hubinon add unexpected musical texture to the mix. The cover art, crafted by Paul Zammit and team, reflects the album’s playful, offbeat spirit without overwhelming the content. This vinyl pressing from 1973 offers a solid stereo presentation that suits focused listening, especially for those who appreciate the blend of comedy and musicianship. The LP is graded VG+, indicating a copy with only minor surface marks or paper scuffs that shouldn't interfere significantly with playback. It’s the kind of record that rewards a careful ear, particularly if you enjoy Cheech and Chong’s unique brand of humor delivered in a compact acoustic ensemble setting. If your collection is looking for a little more mischief and wit with its grooves, this one fits the bill without trying too hard. Cheech Y Chong.
