Cocteau Twins- Garlands-LP

Cocteau Twins – Garlands

Garlands introduced Cocteau Twins on 4AD in 1982, putting the Scottish band’s shadowy post-punk beginnings on record before their later catalog moved further into ethereal territory. It remains a key early title partly because it is the only album recorded with original bassist Will Heggie, giving it a distinct place in the band’s lineup history. The record also earned BBC Radio 1 support from John Peel and reached the Top 5 of the UK Independent Albums Chart, a nice reminder of how quickly it connected beyond the underground. This new vinyl pressing is priced at $32 and comes sealed in shrink wrap. The cover has its own bit of period art-school intrigue too: Nigel Grierson designed it from a college project involving alternate covers for Siouxsie and the Banshees’ The Scream. For a buyer who wants an unopened copy of Cocteau Twins’ debut, the sealed condition is the key appeal here.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
