Cloud Nine marked a significant return for George Harrison in 1987, blending his signature melodic sensibility with a polished, contemporary production that refreshed his sound for the late ’80s. The album features standout tracks like "Got My Mind Set On You," which brought Harrison back into the spotlight with its infectious energy, alongside reflective pieces such as "This Is Love" and the nostalgic "When We Was Fab," a playful nod to his Beatles days that wears its reverence lightly. The album’s acoustic ensemble arrangements give it an intimate feel, inviting focused listening rather than background noise. This 1987 pressing offers a solid vintage snapshot of Harrison’s post-Beatles solo career, presented on vinyl with a clean, glossy surface showing only minor light paper scuffs typical of well-kept records from the era. Such condition means it’s ready to roll with minimal distraction, making it a practical choice for those looking to experience this chapter of Harrison’s work in a format that suits both collectors and casual listeners. If you’re navigating the shelf, consider this one a smooth detour through a time when George was both looking back and stepping forward.
