Gunsmoke's Festus- Sings And Talks 'Bout Dodge City 'N Stuff-LP

• Format: Vinyl, LP

Gunsmoke's Festus Sings And Talks 'Bout Dodge City 'N Stuff captures Ken Curtis stepping beyond his role as Festus Haggen to blend storytelling with song. This curious mix of musical tracks and spoken word segments offers a rare glimpse into Festus's world, with pieces like "Festus Talks About Gunsmoke's Dodge City" providing character insights that deepen the album’s narrative. The collection runs about 39 minutes and includes tales about family, hometown pride in "My Home Town," and even a jaunt to "Las Vegas, Nevada," all delivered in a voice familiar to fans of the long-running TV Western. Before his acting career, Curtis was a singer who once took over as Tommy Dorsey’s bandleader from Frank Sinatra, which adds an unexpected layer to the charm here. This vinyl pressing’s VG+ condition means you can expect some light surface marks or paper scuffs typical of regular use, but nothing that should overshadow the listening experience. The format invites a tactile connection to a unique piece of Gunsmoke memorabilia that’s part spoken narrative, part musical excursion. As a collector’s curiosity, it’s a record that might spark a chuckle when you realize Festus’s storytelling might just earn a spot between your music and your audiobook shelves.
