Copy notes: writing on cover

Collectors' Item by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes is a standout example of Philadelphia soul, produced by the legendary duo Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff. The album features lush arrangements by Bobby Martin and showcases the group's smooth vocal harmonies on tracks like "The Love I Lost" and "If You Don't Know Me By Now," both of which highlight the seamless blend of heartfelt emotion and danceable grooves that defined the era. The artwork, contributed by Victor Juhasz and Don Hunstein among others, complements the sophisticated sound with a polished visual style that fits the Philadelphia International Records aesthetic. This 1976 pressing of Collectors' Item comes in a vinyl condition suitable for steady play, with a VG+ grade indicating some light surface marks or scuffs that shouldn't overshadow the music's clarity. Engineered by a team including Jay Mark and Joe Tarsia, the sound preserves the rich textures and intricate layering familiar to fans of the label. While not mint, this copy offers a reliable listening experience for those who appreciate soul that rewards focused listening, making it a welcome addition for anyone exploring the depth of '70s soul beyond the biggest hits. It’s the sort of record that proves even a collector’s item can still put its best groove forward without needing a magnifying glass.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
