Johnny Otis- Original Otis Orchestra-LP

Johnny Otis – Original Otis Orchestra

Johnny Otis’s Original Otis Orchestra carries the pull of an artist deeply tied to the foundations of rhythm and blues and early rock and roll. Otis was a singer, musician, composer, bandleader, producer, talent scout, and preacher, and his “Godfather of Rhythm and Blues” reputation gives this record more weight than a routine genre-bin find. The appeal here is that broader Otis story: a figure connected to R&B, blues, rock and roll, and the musical world that fed directly into early rock culture. This copy is a 1982 Japan import vinyl pressing with obi, a nice format detail for a vintage Johnny Otis title. Priced at $30, it has clean copy appeal as well: the vinyl is graded NM, meaning it looks exceptionally clean and close to new visually, with no notable handling wear expected from the grade.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
