Motown Special Jr. Walker And The All Stars offers a vivid snapshot of Jr. Walker’s soulful saxophone work and dynamic vocal presence, blending focused listening with the energy of an intimate band setting. Tracks like "Shotgun" and "What Does It Take" highlight the group’s knack for tight grooves and emotional punch, reflecting Jr. Walker’s roots in Michigan’s vibrant music scene. The album’s mix of original tunes and Motown classics like "I Was Made To Love Her" and "Psychedelic Shack" showcases the versatility of both the artist and the ensemble — a small ensemble that knows how to fill a room without overcrowding it. This 1977 vinyl pressing comes in very clean condition, with only minor surface marks typical of a well-kept record from this era, offering a glossy play experience. It’s a solid choice for anyone interested in Motown’s deeper catalog or the saxophone-driven soul that Jr. Walker helped define. Since the pressing details are straightforward, it’s a practical way to add a lively piece of 1970s soul and R&B to a collection without the fuss of chasing down rarities. This record turns the volume up on a distinct voice in jazz and soul — proving that sometimes, the best conversations are had between a saxophone and a groove.
