Marty Paich- Like Wow! Jazz 1960-LP

Marty Paich – Like Wow! Jazz 1960

Marty Paich’s reputation was built as much behind the bandstand as at the piano: he was a pianist, composer, arranger, music director, and conductor whose credits reached Mel Tormé, Art Pepper, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, and Ray Charles. Like Wow! Jazz 1960 is a cool-jazz Marty Paich album with the kind of arranger-led appeal that makes his records interesting beyond a standard small-group date. His long association with Tormé, including the Dek-Tette work, is a good reminder of how central arranging was to Paich’s jazz identity. This copy is a 1960 mono vinyl pressing priced at $28. The record is conservatively graded VG, so expect more visible wear and possible background noise, though the copy is also noted as playing close to VG+. For a buyer who wants vintage mono Paich with honest condition guidance, that play note gives this copy a nice bit of extra appeal.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
