Pavement – Slanted and Enchanted

Slanted and Enchanted is where Pavement’s album catalog starts: the band’s 1992 debut, released by Matador Records, and a key early document of their indie-rock identity. It is also the only Pavement studio album to feature drummer Gary Young, which gives it a distinct place in the band’s lineup history. The title came from a cartoon by the band’s friend David Berman, and the cover art has its own oddball charm, built from the artwork of Ferrante & Teicher’s Keyboard Kapers. This is a new vinyl pressing at $30, a clean choice if you want the album on fresh, sealed wax rather than a used vintage copy. The record is still sealed in its original shrink wrap, so the vinyl has not been handled or inspected outside the package. For Pavement listeners, that sealed new-pressing condition is the main appeal of this copy.
