Ray Charles – Love and Peace

Love and Peace catches Ray Charles working with late-1970s studio tools, including his first album made with a 24-track recording machine for more layered arrangements. The production also brings in synthesizers, reflecting how disco’s rise was shaping soul and pop records of the period. There’s a socially aware edge here too, with Charles engaging directly with public issues of the day, including a pointed address to President Carter. This is a 1978 vinyl pressing, a nice vintage copy for anyone interested in Ray’s funk/soul and jazz-adjacent work beyond the most familiar titles. The record is graded VG++, meaning glossy, very clean vinyl with only very small light marks, sleeve scuffs, or faint lines expected. At $10, it’s an affordable Ray Charles copy with appealing condition and a distinct late-’70s production story.
