Beyond The Sun And Stars by Redwing offers a quietly compelling journey through focused acoustic arrangements, showcasing a compact ensemble that favors intimate, attentive listening over flashy production. Tracks like "Louisiana Heartbreak Cajun Swamp Queen Blues" and "Salty Tears" suggest a blend of rootsy storytelling and subtle instrumental interplay, inviting listeners into a space where every note has room to breathe. The album’s title hints at a reach beyond the ordinary, and the music stays true to that promise, balancing reflective moods with occasional rhythmic sparks like those found in "Hollywood Bump" and "Jive Talk." This 1975 vintage pressing brings that experience to vinyl, presented in a format that suits the album’s detailed, small ensemble sound. The record is graded VG++, indicating a glossy surface with only minor, light paper scuffs or faint lines typical of careful use—not the sort to catch your eye during a quiet groove but enough to keep you honest about its history. It’s a pressing that lets the music’s nuances come through clearly, making it a fitting choice for anyone intrigued by focused listening and acoustic textures. And since Redwing doesn’t overcrowd their sonic canvas, this record’s presence on your shelf won’t elbow out the neighbors.
