Coast To Coast Overture And Beginners brings together Rod Stewart and Faces in a setting that favors attentive listening over stadium roar. The album leans on a mostly acoustic lineup, presenting a thoughtful blend of songs like "It's All Over Now" and "Stay With Me" that showcase the band’s knack for tight, intimate arrangements alongside Stewart’s distinctive voice. The mix of originals and covers, including "I'd Rather Go Blind" and "Jealous Guy," reflects a range of moods without crowding the sound, making it a rewarding listen for anyone drawn to focused, guitar-driven sessions. If you’re the kind who enjoys peeling back layers rather than peeling out, this album offers a satisfying experience. This 1973 pressing on vinyl holds up well, graded VG+ for sound quality that should serve daily listening without fuss. You might spot the usual light surface marks and minor paper scuffs typical of a record that’s seen some play but hasn’t been through the wringer—nothing that should get in the way of the music. It’s a solid example for those wanting a copy that balances playability with preservation, ideal for collectors who prefer their records to come with a bit of lived-in credibility rather than a plastic-wrapped museum piece. After all, not every record needs to be mint to make a mint impression. Rod Stewart / Faces.
