Stan Getz – With Guest Artist Laurindo Almeida

With Guest Artist Laurindo Almeida brings Stan Getz together with Brazilian guitarist Laurindo Almeida, pairing Getz’s lyrical tenor saxophone with Almeida’s classical-guitar approach. The collaboration points straight to the jazz-and-Brazilian crossover that made Getz such an important figure for listeners drawn to bossa nova, samba, and cool jazz. Getz was widely known as “The Sound,” and that reputation for a warm, melodic tenor style is a big part of the appeal here. This is a 1970 Verve Records vinyl reissue, priced at $16, with vintage catalog appeal rather than any unsupported first-press claim. The record is graded VG++, a very clean used-vinyl grade: glossy overall, with only very small light marks, sleeve scuffs, or faint lines expected. For a Getz/Almeida Verve title, that high vinyl grade is the copy-specific strength to notice.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
