Sunday Funnies' Benediction offers a thoughtful set of acoustic performances designed for focused listening, blending intimate arrangements with a small ensemble dynamic that invites close attention. Tracks like "Reach Out I'll Be There" and "Power & The Glory" showcase the band’s knack for weaving soulful melodies with reflective lyrics, while "Get Funky" adds a subtle pulse that keeps the energy grounded. It’s an album that doesn’t rush, rewarding anyone willing to sit in and let the music unfold patiently—perfect for those who appreciate music that speaks softly but carries a steady message. This 1972 pressing presents Benediction on vinyl with a condition graded as VG, meaning it plays well but shows noticeable wear and may include some background noise, so it’s best suited for listeners who prioritize the music over flawless sound quality. The album’s acoustic ensemble and focused approach make it a distinctive find that fits neatly alongside folk and soul collections. Given the pressing’s vintage date, this copy offers a tangible connection to the era when intimate, small ensemble recordings carved out their own quiet corners—reminding us that sometimes less really is more.
