Construction #1 by Ten Wheel Drive with Genya Ravan stands out for its adventurous blend of focused listening and intimate acoustic arrangements, offering a distinct snapshot of late ’60s experimentation. Genya Ravan’s dynamic vocals cut through tracks like "Candy Man Blues" and "Tightrope," delivering a raw edge that contrasts with the album’s more contemplative moments such as "Eye Of The Needle." The record’s thoughtful pacing and compact ensemble give it a textured, nuanced feel—perfect for listeners who appreciate music that rewards close attention without demanding a full symphonic backdrop. This 1969 vinyl pressing presents the album with solid clarity, and the VG+ condition suggests it has seen light play but remains free from any defects that might interfere with enjoyment. Expect minor surface marks typical of a well-cared-for record from this era, nothing that should distract from the music itself. The 12-inch format holds the grooves comfortably, and for those who find themselves navigating the shelves between jazz, rock, and singer-songwriter sections, Construction #1 offers a rewarding detour. After all, not every record needs to be a high-wire act—some just balance the elements with steady poise.
