The Beatles – 1962-1966

The Beatles’ 1962-1966 pulls together the group’s early-to-mid-period work in a double-LP set that follows the years named in the title. It is a useful, highly listenable overview of the Liverpool band’s rise from rock ’n’ roll and beat roots into more expansive pop writing, with George Martin’s production central to that early sound. Apple Records, the label co-founded by the band, gives this compilation extra period character. This copy is a 1973 Japan import vinyl pressing priced at $44.00, a nice choice if you want the “Red Album” in a vintage import edition rather than a later domestic copy. Both records are graded VG++, which points to glossy, very clean vinyl overall, with only very small light marks, sleeve scuffs, or faint lines expected. A strong-condition two-record Beatles compilation with Japanese import appeal is the main draw here.
